Bike Safety

On Monday the 17th of November Constable Herick came to our school to teach some bike safety for year 3-8s and crossing safety for years 0-2s. He taught us lots of different skills for starting and stopping on our bikes. One of the things was to always get on your bike on the side without the chain. Also start your bike with your right pedal in line with the frame of the bike. The year 0-2s learned lots of pedestrian crossing rules. Everyone enjoyed their time at bike and crossing safety.

Swimming

For the last 9 days we have been swimming at the Central Southland pool. We have learned how to do back stroke and a few other things. My favourite is free style.  By Jacqui

For the past two weeks room 9,10,11,12 and 13 have been going swimming at Central Southland Collage with Kirsten and Caitlin.Some things we have been learning are freestyle, backstroke, streamline and many more. These 5 classrooms have really enjoyed swimming and can't wait till next year.On The 27th of November we all had testing to see how far we could swim 

Foods around the world

In term 4 room 12 had a topic on food around the world. We all did places like Mali, China and Mongolia. In other countries they eat strange foods like polar bear and seals. It might sound gross to you but it's yum for the other countries. We had a to write down fact about the family and their favourite foods. Some families payed as little as $1.23 for groceries a week and others spent as much as $731.71! All up we think that everyone around the world eats different foods.

Calendar Art

This week we have been busy bees creating a wonderful picture for our 2015 calendars. They look great. Some people have done a hands and bull's eyes, some people put photos on some paper and coloured in the background, some have made fantasy pictures.  We use lots of different colours.

In Room 12 we have group points for being good. When we choose the group  names Miss Collie said  that it had to be something to do with winter. Here are the names Slippery -Sliders, Super snowflakes , Frozen, The Olaf team, Ice balls, Wild weather and Snow bunnies.

SCHOOL WAY BACK THEN!!!!

In room 12 we have been learning about what school was like 100 years ago. We have been searching around trying to find the rules for lots of old games like hopscotch, four square, hot potato, string games and lots more. We have also been writing what they used to have and what we have now.

Our New Classroon

OMG! You won't guess what happened. It is finally time to open  the new classrooms. On Monday Taylor was  going to say something in the hall but a pink mother bear jumped out of the interactive white board with 4 baby bears called Lucy,Rebecca, Georgia and  Charlotte. They all went for Taylor's legs and arms. The Mum scared all the kids and the teachers away and that was the end of Taylor.

THEN AND NOW

              In room 12 we have been doing a then and now wall we have done rope to skipping rope,  horses to cars 🐴 🚘, potbelly to oven etc. We drew the picture from ages ago on thin paper that they might have used and the things now on white paper

Tales from a not-so- fabulous life

Lately I have been reading a book from dork diaries called pop star it is about a girl called Nikki Maxwell who's school is holding a talent competition and Nikki can't wait to start practising dance moves with her BFFS Chloe and Zoey, and impressing Brandon her crush, with her singing skills !! I think this book is awesome to read and is funny plus I like reading this is silent reading time.

Room 12

OUR NEW FURNITURE!!!!!!!!!

On the 14th of May 2014 Room 12 got there new furniture. We got 3 little couches,  a brand new teacher table + a teacher chair,  awesome reading char etc. My favourite piece of furniture is the reading chair because I like reading and the chair is comfortable.
