Olympic Mascots By Harry

Wenlock and Mandeville are the mascots for the London 2012 Olympics.  Dr William Penny Brookes from a small town in Shropshire, England known as Much Wenlock was the inspiration for the modern Olympic games.  http://www.wenlock-olympian-society.org.uk/
The first Wenlock Olympian games took place in 1850.

Mandeville is the Mascot for the paralympic games also being held in London after the modern Olympics have finished.  Mandeville was named after the Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire which used to have it's own Mandeville Games.  Buckinghamshire was the name of the county that we lived in before we moved to New Zealand.  We lived in the town of Buckingham.

Mandeville    and   Wenlock
Mandeville likes trying new things and being the best he can be.
Wenlock likes finding out about new sports, having fun and making friends.

I went online at https://mascot-games.london2012.com/ and I created my own mascots.

Burwood   and   Giddy
I found most of my information about the Mascots on the London Olympic Mascot Site.
My motto is "Stay determined and you will be successfull".
