THE BIG ICE CREAM TASTE TEST!

Today is the day Room 1 and 2 have been waiting for... tasting their ice creams. Room 1, 2 and 3 children voted for their favourite flavors.  The winners were B&B Whirled and Jumping Jolly Mush.

In room 1 we are making ice creams. When we finish the ice creams we will get Room  2 & 3 to judge it. At the moment they are in the freezer to keep them cool. At the end room 2 & 3 will vote for the one they liked the most.

My Uncle Ronnie.

One nice warm weekend my sister Elena and I stayed at our Nana's .

Suddenly when I was making a cup of tea for Nana the phone rang. I said ''Hello Madilyn speaking'' It was my Aunty Rochelle, [I call her Aunty Shell] anyway she wanted to talk to Nana so she did.

After a while Nana hung up the phone. She was crying I asked whats wrong she said this...'' Uncle Ronnie (Mum's sisters ex husband) and Erwin were riding the bike around the speedway track and Uncle Ronnie died''

I was heart broken. I was also speechless then I ran into the bathroom.

 Nana rang every family member. 

On Tuesday was the funeral Dene and I were not allowed to go to the funeral because we had to go to school.

The Milky Whey.

On Thursday the 10th of April we got a little news paper that is called the Milky Whey.
Some of the activities are all about cows and dairy products like milk, cheese and other dairy products.
There is a cow called Rosie. She has her own website called Rosies World. It has lots of cool games.
The games are all about farms and dairy stuff there are lot of word finds and
other cool games and activities you can do. It was a good way to finish off our dairy unit and see how much we know about dairying.

The Important book

During the year the whole class made a book and it was called The Important book. I did my one on not talking while others are talking and this is the paragraph I wrote.                                                                             The important thing about not talking while others are talking is that you can hear the person who is speaking.

It is showing respect. It is good manners. It is listening to others or you might miss something important.

But the most important thing about not talking while others are talking is that you can hear and it lets others learn more.

Regions of new zealand

Waikato

For the first few weeks we were learning about New Zealand regions.

After 2 weeks we buddied up with someone and picked a region we had to go up and say what we found out about it. 

We weren't meant to tell anyone what we picked until they guessed it so I am going to tell you what Geena and I did.

We picked Waikato because it has lots of caves and black water rafting lots of water falls and glowworm caves.

They have a wildlife park kiwi's tuatara's and native animal's.

It is around the area of Te kuiti and Otorohanga.

Ice Cream Advertisement

In Room One we have been making an Ice Cream Poster for an Ice Cream that we have designed.  We have had to put a descriptive title, a question and a catchy slogan to catch peoples attention.
My group's title is Choc-o-Lumps and our question is 'Are you ready for a lumpy bumpy Choc-o-Lump?' and the last one is our Catchy Slogan and that is Sweet Treat and You'll fall in love. We would like to target everybody.
We all have a group of two or three people. I have three people in my group. We are doing this for our Science experiment. I think this is a great experiment for everybody in our class.

Our Ice Cream is made out of Pinapple Lumps and Chocolate Sauce. We hope that everybody will love our Ice Cream and we will win the competition but even if we don't win the competition I will still be really happy I got to be in it.
 As a group we have been working well together but we have had our ups and downs but we still hope that everybody thinks that it is either the best Ice Cream flavour they have ever tasted or one of there favourite Ice Creams. I have had a fantastic time making the Poster for the Ice Cream and I can't wait to make the Ice Cream.

MAPS

In Room One we have been learning to follow directions on maps. First we had to think of a name for our map my one was Sweet Land. Then we had to draw places that are to do with our tittle of our map. Some of my places were jelly stream,  caramellow field, chocolate bar street, sherbert rocks and my favourite hockey pockey island. Here is a picture of my one it is not done but its nearly is.

Beach

In room 1 we have been doing narratives about our holidays. Mine is about the beach in Riverton. Enjoy.

''I can't wait come on hurry up " as my sister was getting dressed. I want to go to the beach I was in Riverton and it was a hot summer day so I really wanted to go to the beach.

Finally we are at the beach I saw my chubby friend. His name was Jonny and I saw a little girl I knew so me and my friend started chasing her. She let out a happy scream. It was funny.

Then she had to go home so Jonny and I went surfing again. My sister Brooke went up to the house but Jonny's mum was there. It was about 5:00 so Jonny left so  I went up to the house and had tea.

Room1's Maps

In Room1 lately in strand maths we have been making direction maps. The topic is Position and orientation where we have to use coordinates, directions and scales to find things.  We have to 

rule lines, straight and even. Then draw numbers along the side and letters on the top and 

write the title. After that we drew a draft picture of our island and put all ten things on it 

and got it checked by Mrs Riley. We wrote the good copy on to our pieces of paper and put all the things on it. Then we colored it all in and wrote directions to go with it and then we will swap with a partner and your partner has to follow your instructions and sign there name. Our maps are not finished yet but we will finish them on Friday and put some more photos up for you to see.

Wedding bells are ringing

On Saturday it was my Mum and dads wedding. My brothers and I had to get dressed really fast because we were going to have photos at our granddad's house. We didn't know what Mum or Thea looked like. When they arrived they were in a fancy car with the brides maids. 

When we got home we had lunch then we went outside and played on the tramp until it was time. I walked mum down the grassy green path to Dad. At 9:32 at night Mr Whippy came and I had three ice creams and got a sugar rush. After that I got a helium balloon and made a hole in it then I sucked up the helium and sounded different.

                            RIVERTON





Nothing to do apart from sitting in the car until we get to Riverton. We arrived at my Uncle's place. I saw a dog. I said to Mum I know that dog we had it for 8 weeks while its owner went to Scotland. The dog's name was Bony.
